Outreach

Library district residents who are unable to visit the library for reasons such as health, mobility, age, visual impairment, permanent or physical disability, or other barriers are invited to participate in the service to receive twice monthly delivery of library materials. Participants can request specific books or materials for delivery, or have a library staff member select materials for them based on their preferences.

The library also seeks volunteer drivers to assist in the delivery and return of library materials. Volunteers, who need to have a vehicle and be able to pass a background check, will be matched with one or more homebound patrons.

Thanks to a grant from the Oregon Community Foundation, Curry Public Library is currently retrofitting a bus to bring library materials and services to the more remote areas of the library district. Stay tuned for more details!

With our mobile library setup, our staff periodically set up at local businesses to check out books, issue library cards, and provide information about our programs.

Our children’s librarian schedules regular outreach programs with daycares, Head Start, and other youth programs away from the library. These programs include story times, activities, and the distribution of books.
