Poetry Month Postcard Challenge
April 1 @ 8:00 am - May 15 @ 5:00 pm

April is National Poetry Month! Celebrate by entering our Poetry Postcard Challenge
We invite you to write an original poem that can fit on the back of a postcard. Stop by on or after April 1 and pick up one of the art postcards we made (which include a number of famous paintings as well as pictures of Spike and Darby!), or create your own postcard image using one of our blank cards. You might also have a postcard in your own collection that you’d like to work with. Write your poem on the back of the postcard, and drop it off at the front desk by April 22. You may fill in the address on the back of the card however you like: To Whom It May Concern, the library, or someone else. Be sure to include your name. You may submit up to three postcards. The poems will be displayed in the library from April 25 to May 15.
Need inspiration? Your poem might be inspired by the image on the postcard you choose. Or you could think about writing a postcard to someone telling them what is on your mind at the moment. You could write about what you’re doing that day, what you see out the window, a dream you had, your pet, or your garden.
