Memory Café Curry
November 15 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

“Memory Café Curry” will meet the third Wednesday of every month from 10:30am-12:00pm, starting on Wednesday, November 15 at Curry Public Library in Gold Beach. To register for the program, please email memorycafe@cplib.net or call 541-247-7246.
A memory café is an informal social gathering for older adults living with memory loss and their care partners. Care partners may include but are not limited to spouses, siblings, children, or friends, whose social lives are often just as affected as their loved ones. Memory cafés are designed to be a casual, stress-free gathering to allow care partners the opportunity to relax and socialize with others in their same situation.
“Memory Café Curry” will be staffed by a qualified social service provider (MSW), library staff, and volunteers. The Café will provide a safe, supportive space where activities are not dependent on flawless memories. Care partners can be with their loved one and socialize in a judgment free, comfortable environment. Coffee and snacks will be provided, and there is no cost to attend. However, this not a care facility, and care partners are required to be present.
This project is the work of a team of Curry Public Library staff in partnership with Lualhati Anderson (Oregon Older Adult Behavioral Health Initiative), and is based on inspiration and support from “Memory Café Coos,” a collaboration between North Bend Public Library, North Bend Medical Center, and the Oregon Older Adult Behavioral Health Initiative.
