Expressive Arts Visual Journaling Workshop

Welcome to a workshop that joins squash, smash, junk and visual journaling along with altered book-making all into one to allow participants to retell (or better yet re imagine) their unique life stories using images, found objects, free-writing prompts and sensory devices (sights, sounds, textures, smells) to recapture and enhance meaningful moments and memories for personal enrichment and reflection.

Please note: Participants are invited to bring their own hardback journals or discarded books, or you can make your own book as a part of the workshop!

Gather together cherished photos, notes, letters, recipes, envelopes, poems or sayings, scraps of colorful papers, fabrics, yarns, magazine cut outs and decorative cards along with plenty of ribbon, bows, buttons, fabrics, yarns and miscellany including feathers, shells, leaves, etc. (anything that you can realistically glue down) to the workshop to help tell your story visually.

Supplies such as mod-podge, tempura and watercolor paints, brushes, scissors, cut out images, found objects and specialty papers along  with samples will be provided.
