About Curry Public Library
The mission of the Curry Public Library is to provide the public with access to quality materials and services to meet recreational, informational, and educational needs, and to promote reading and lifelong learning for all.
Curry Public Library is located on the beautiful southwest Oregon Coast. The Library is a publicly supported special district that serves Gold Beach and the surrounding area (population 4,949) and works with other libraries in Curry County to provide top-notch library services.
Curry Public Library offers the latest best-selling books, classics, a wide range of non-fiction, audio books, DVD’s, magazines, newspapers, and a seed library. We also offer downloadable audio books, movies, and e-books through our Library2Go program.
The Library provides free access for its patrons to millions of articles and information resources through its subscription databases. For more information, select from the Research & Learning menu.
For those items not available in our collection, patrons may find what they need through interlibrary loan. Please see Interlibrary Loan on the Library Policies page.
Our 8,200 square foot library facility was built and opened to the public in 2008. It features a large area for general library materials, a children’s room, a teen room, public computers, a periodicals reading area, staff work areas, and seating for reading and research. In 2018, the library completed a learning center addition of 6,400 square feet that includes a small conference room, a multipurpose meeting room, a technology/makerspace lab, and a coffee shop. These spaces are used for library programs for adults, families, and children; public meeting spaces, and other learning-based programs. The library property includes a formal garden funded by Gold Beach Century 21 Real Estate in honor of Anita Harper, extensive wetland and green space, and a resident osprey nest.
Internet Service and Other Technology
The library has 10 computers workstations equipped with Microsoft Office and high speed internet access. Patrons with wireless laptops, smart phones, and tablets can access the internet through the Library’s free wi-fi.
Copying, faxing, and printing is also available at the Library. Please see the Using the Library page for more details.
We strive to continually improve our services. If you have any suggestions, feedback, or if there is a book you would like us to put into circulation, please let us know.
